How come we judge people by their hair colour? Why is it such an important point of someones identity?

And why are there preconceptions because of hair colour. Like blondes are stupid, etc.

I wish everyone had the same hair colour. It would make life so much easier for those of us who are stuck with a colour that has the mickey taken out of it.
